These areas include ledges, roof alcoves, shaded areas and openings that allow structural entry. Add to that dense tree growth with shaded protection. Then we place decorative fountains in our yards 

We allow our landscaped areas to be over watered and create standing water. A drinking source. Our multi – story rooftops provide the panoramic views that they enjoy. 

We often ignore the problem until it becomes a nuisance. The droppings, nesting material, dead birds and the noted cooing sound is obvious

Nesting is the practice of living in their homes. (Usually Alcoves) In other words, this is where they spend their time, have their babies, and build up the often-noticeable bowl-shaped feces and other materials nest. The nesting of the pigeons is the initial area to focus on correcting. Roosting is the practice of the birds at certain times of the day where they fly and land on the peaks of the roofs. This is their observation point that allows them to view areas, find food, water, and foraging sites.

• Shooting, trapping, poisoning, are all options. We just don’t think they are the best choices. Residential areas can be of concern. One mistake and non-target animals or humans can be affected. Commercial areas are of concern as well.
